Final Reflection

After browsing through the blog I've kept over the past semester, a few moments stick out. I think my favorite activity I did was interviewing people in my demographic about my venture idea. It was kind of scary but a lot of fun and taught me a lot about conducting interviews. I remember dreading the first entrepreneur interview I did, but it was a lot easier the second time around. I think overall the in person interviews were the most formative experiences for me, I really learned a lot about getting over my insecurities and approaching people, which is useful in and out of the business world.

I suppose I definitely see myself as more of an entrepreneur than I did at the beginning. I wouldn't call myself a full fledged entrepreneur, what with haven't actually started a business, but I definitely feel more comfortable and in-tune with that sort of mindset. If I were to give advice to future students in this course, the number one piece of advice would be to not be too afraid to leave your comfort zone. Its essential for success and for growing as an entrepreneur and a person overall. If you let go of your insecurities a bit, you'll find yourself having a lot of fun!

  1. I’m with you on the interviews – probably the most nerve-wracking experience in the class. I too, am glad I got through them and it is amazing how many people are approachable and willing to help out (even though I seem to have had more trouble with finding willing participants than some others in the class) – but nonetheless, it makes the thought of pursuing my own business venture in the future much less scary as I know I will have the confidence and experience of walking up to someone and asking their opinion.

  2. Hi Jordan,
I too felt very insecure about conducting the customer interviews. Those were definitely useful assignments that help you get out of your comfort zone and become more confident. Without a doubt, this class helped open my eyes in terms of how much more I have to learn, in and out of the business world. I need more practice and more experience to grow my interviewing skills and interpersonal communication. Hope your finals went well!

  4. Hey Jordan, you are certainly braver than me when it comes to interviewing people about your ideas, I admit I wasn't excited at all. I just feel like I would be annoying to them, and i was to some people, but for the most part they enjoyed my idea and gave great feedback. That is all a part of growing as you explained. Do you see yourself viewing the world differently now that you have taken this class? Great post good job!
